The Best Ways to Save More Money

When I was younger I always had a difficult time saving money. I would blow hundreds of dollars on the dumbest shit. But when I started making more money, and then wondering to myself “Where did all my money go?” I decided that I needed a better way to keep track of my money, which in turn helped me save money.

  • Keep Track of Your Money

The best thing that I did to help me stop spending money wastefully, was to keep track of the money that was coming in and the money I was spending. This is incredibly simple to do, in fact there are many software programs that can help you keep track of how your money is being spent

  • Invest rather than spend for status

Most individuals spend money they don’t have on things that are not meaningful to their lives. The only thing that it does is provide them with the fleeting ability to project status. Better places to spend money include starting one’s own business, investing and spending money on something that will improve your quality of your life, or help you become a better person. Investing in your own property, by using a plumber to do yearly maintenance is an example of a good investment. When you decide to sell your property, you know that your plumbing system is in excellent shape. You can also ensure that no sudden problems occur that would set you back hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

  • Avoid Overspending

Why do most people need to buy expensive items? When they can get something that is of the same quality and style for much cheaper. Avoid spending money on brand name clothing’s or expensive items, when you can get items of the same value for much cheaper. Always buy for utility and durability

  • Avoid Depending on Credit Cards

Too many people use credit cards as a clutch to buy whatever they want. You should never buy something on your credit card, that you cannot pay off in full at the end of every month. The interest rate alone is a waste of money.

Most people don’t understand that owning a home and car are one of the biggest money wasters you could possibly have. In my opinion it is better to rent a home or apartment and commute than to own a home and car. This could potentially save you thousands of dollars every year

  • Starbucks and useless drinks

The average American $780 a year on just Starbucks alone, this is absolutely ridiculous. It would be cheaper to make your own coffee at home (if you have to), or opt in for some alternatives, like water.

These are just some of the things that you can do to save thousands of dollars every year. If I think of some more I will post another blog entry on it. Remember, if you track your spending, you will be surprised just how much money you are wasting every year.

The Balance Between Training and Living Life

Life isn’t all about work, there should be a balance between working, training and having fun. I personally believe that everyone should have some type of workout regimen that they do at least 3 times a week, or a personal trainer who can help them achieve their goals.

Today I can tell you that I am in the best shape of my life. I make sure that I make time to go to the gym for at least 45 minutes 5 days a week. This has helped me in more ways than I can possibly describe. There are times when I noticed that I am having a difficult time balancing training with many other aspects of my life. But the key to balance was developed through years of practice and experience.

How do I balance my Training?

Perform Weightlifting Exercises

Every man needs to have a physically strong body. Here are several reasons why everyone must lift weights

Loss of fat

Researches have come to the conclusion that working out causes your body to burn upwards of 40% more fat. By working out you will be able to build and maintain muscle and lose a lot of fat

Better fitted clothes

Your clothes fit better, and you will feel better. You will also be able to slow down the loss of muscle over time as you age.

Burn more calories

As you lift weights, you tend to burn more calories, far more calories than sitting on the couch watching the television set all day, or sitting in a cubicle.

Stress Reliever & Ability to Handle Stress Better

Working out is a way for you to let out some steam. It also helps individuals handle stress better

Do Aerobic Training and play sports

Perform at least some sort of sport, that may be as simple as running, to a sport that you enjoy. Such as Basketball, Football, Baseball, etc. Anything that you enjoy, you just have to remember to stay active

Perform other physical activities

It doesn’t really matter, go for a walk, perform your favorite hobbies like archery, bowling. Maybe you are a gun enthusiast, go to the shooting range. It doesn’t really matter. Just do something.

By having a good balance of training and work and life, it will lead to a more fulfilling life. Make sure to cut out low priority things and focus on the things that mean the most to you.

How to Build a Great Professional network – Part 1

Through years of experience, I have discovered that companies and their people are no longer devoted to each other. But have a great network can create a sense of devotion that isn’t offered in the corporate world. After you have lost your job, you will have no reason to fret, because you know someone that has the ability to get you a job that you want. If you are in desperate need of anything, whether it’s advice, money, anything at all. You can always find it in your professional network.

The best way to have a great professional network is to be a generous person. You also can’t be the kind of person that is afraid to ask for generosity in return. I used to be the sort of person that was incredibly afraid of asking for something from another person, because I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to return the favor.

One day as I was speaking to a friend of mine, my friend became a roofer over a two decades ago and had started his own successful roofing business. He told me that the only reason he was able to succeed was because of the connection that he had built through the years before he went to and during trade school. He said that “Listen, you can’t be scared to accept people’s generosity, but make sure that when you are able to help someone that you reach out to them and help them. This will be your greatest asset when you are trying to build up your network.” I also learned that even if the person says no, it’s still better than not asking at all.

In order to build a successful network, you need to find people who can help you achieve your dreams and reach out to them. Learn about them, do some research, make sure that you have a good understanding about who they are. Make sure that when you contact this people, that you are also able to add value to their lives. No one wants to work with someone that does not provide value at all.

If you find an individual who has many contacts, build a relationship with them. This will give you a massive advantage, if the person can vouch for you, then you will have access to an inner circle of a wide variety of people that you can use at your disposal. Being friendly has never hurt anyone.
